Soft, simple and comfortable — with Cayman's climate in mind.

An everyday basic that's particularly useful in Cayman. Wear them alone in the heat or layer them when needed.

Zip Sleepers

Easy for nighttime, naps and air-conditioned rooms. We love zips — especially two-way zips — for simpler nappy changes.

Knotted Gowns

Optional, but handy for those very frequent newborn nappy changes. Their useful window is short, so you don't need many.

Hats & Mittens

Useful for specific situations, but you don’t need a drawer full. Mittens are optional, especially since sleepers with fold-over cuffs may do the job — with one less tiny thing to lose in the laundry.

Good To Know: Newborn Sizing

Don't buy everything in newborn size.

Babies arrive at different sizes, and some spend very little time in newborn clothing. Keep a small rotation of newborn pieces, put more of your early wardrobe into 0–3 months, and have a few 3–6 month basics ready if you'd like.

And remember: sizing varies between brands. Buy the baby, not the label.

A Note From The Islands

Many newborn checklists are written with colder climates in mind.

In Cayman, lightweight, breathable clothing earns its place. Short-sleeve bodysuits can be outfits on their own, while lightweight sleepers and layers are useful for nighttime and air-conditioned spaces.

Think about where baby will actually be rather than dressing from a generic checklist.

Good To Know: Safe Sleep

More isn't better when it comes to baby's sleep space.

Follow current safe-sleep guidance for baby's sleep position and environment, including when to stop swaddling. Pillows, bumpers, positioners, nests, loose blankets and other beautiful nursery accessories don't belong in an infant's sleep space.
